Kala Samples.

Previously we mentioned M.I.A sampling “Jimmy Aja” by Bappi Lahiri.

Take a listen to some samples she used on her new album, Kala,
that are a bit more obsure…

On “Birdflu” she uses a Telegu song by R.P. Patnaik called “Thiruvizhan Nu Vantha”

Also a Tamil song for “Bamboo Banga” by Ilayaraja called “Kattu Kuyilu”

More samples after the jump…

{via palms out}

The Clash’s “Straight To Hell” used on “Paper Planes”

The Pixies “Where Is My Mind” for her song “20 Dollar” to name a few.

Check out the rest of the list, which was well compiled by PalmsOut.

Sorry Basement Bhaji for yet another M.I.A. post.
